Mclean football Cardinals recently played against Rosemont and wore pink. To honor breast cancer awareness, football players wore pink socks, arm sleeves, and some even wore ski masks! In the crowd, many people wore pink clothes, even pink face paint! The color pink represents femininity, compassion, and health. To show our support to those who are struggling with breast cancer or have dealt with it before, the pink-out game was created. On average, 2.3 million cases of breast cancer are diagnosed annually. We may not know people who have dealt with breast cancer, but it’s important we show empathy and support; wearing the color pink helps show it throughout October. This game helped show that there is more to life, and everyone can be struggling without anyone knowing. Seeing these ¨tuff”, strong athletes wear pink helped send a powerful message. Events like these remind us that no one should have to go through difficult times alone. This game was more than just a football game; it was also a way to bring our amazing community together for an important cause. Everyone wearing pink showed that even the small ways we can make a difference and show support for those who are fighting breast cancer.
