November has been quite the exciting month so far, but there are some much more interesting events that’ll occur soon. Allow me to brief you on some of November’s upcoming events.
ID Policy Enforced
Something new has been added to the standard dress code regulations. The Mclean Middle School dress code has been updated, and student IDs are now required. The lanyard must be draped around the neck with nothing covering your face in the photo displayed on the badge. It’s heavily insisted upon that they are worn daily. If not, restrictions will be set in place and privileges will be revoked. For example, without an ID you won’t be able to use the restroom. Temporary IDs are also available in the office in the form of stickers. To anyone reading this article, please wear them.
Thanksgiving Break Is Coming Up!
So far, this school year has definitely been challenging in one way or another for students and teachers alike. So it’s great to see that everyone can take a moment to relax with the upcoming Thanksgiving break! Everyone will have a week off to spend time with their family whilst celebrating Thanksgiving. I hope everyone enjoys their break! I know I will. For more information about when the break will commence, check the FWISD calendar. (It can be found in the cardinal nest on Canvas).
History Fair Is Due Soon
That’s right, cardinals. History Fair is due very soon. That may scare some of you, but I have some good news! The due date of your project varies depending on what kind of project you’re doing.
Performances and websites are due on the 18th, so I’d suggest going at a bit of a faster pace to those doing these types of projects.
Documentaries and historical papers are due on the 19th, which will give you just a bit more time to polish your project
And finally, Exhibits are due on the 20th. I’d still recommend completing them before the due date so you have ample time to kick back and relax.
More information about National History Day and history fair itself can be found in Canvas (From your respective Social Studies/History teacher).
That’s about it for November, cardinals. I hope you’re looking forward to Thanksgiving Break and getting some much needed R&R! While you’re here, why not check out some more articles that were recently published to the mirror? Thank you, and have an excellent week.
