How to Stay Focused!

Have you ever felt like you just need to sleep or can’t stay focused, then keep reading for some tips from your McLean cheer coach, Coach Sherrill. Bonus: Mr. Ortiz’s students shared what he taught them.

When talking with Coach Sherrill, she suggested the following: 10 shoulder shrugs, 3 slow controlled (around the world) neck rolls, 15 second tricep stretches and 10 deep breaths. All sitting of course. Bonus: I’ve had a few students from Mr. Ortiz’s class come to me to tell me what he taught them. According to them, he has told them to breathe in for 4 seconds then breathe out and just let their shoulders fall. As you’re breathing out, let your jaw clench and relax. Hope it helps!
