Today on Friday, January 31st, 2025, Ms. Paulette Culpepper retired. After teaching in FWISD for 40+ years and 31 at McLean, she is retiring at 83 years old. Ms. Culpepper taught Latin and ELA at McLean Middle School, and she may have been your teacher’s teacher as she taught other teachers here who attended McLean at our age. She ended up teaching Mrs. Kurz and Mr. Sullivan when they were here. Now, Mr. Torres with some fond memories, lessons learned, and well wishes for Ms. Culpepper.
Fond memory:
“There are many wonderful things I will remember about working with Mrs. Culpepper, but one of my favorite things is how she would give me a little toy from her treasure chest any time I helped her with a task, I have them safely tucked away in my drawer of special things.”
Lesson learned:
“Mrs. Culpepper inspired me with her ability to keep up with changes in the ways we teach and the tools we are required to use. She taught me that being adaptable and willing to learn are hallmarks of a great teacher.”
Well wishes:
“While I am saddened by the coming absence of a colleague I hold dear, I am thrilled to see my friend get to enjoy quality time with family and friends as well as new adventures! It is my sincere hope that she will enjoy many many years of happy new memories in return for a life of service to the students and families of Fort Worth ISD.”
We all wish Mrs. Culpepper an amazing and lovely retirement from here at McLean as she will always have been one of our finest, and possibly longest standing teachers after all of these years.
