The Map tests lasts for two class periods. They last multiple days depending on if its a normal (double blocked) period or a period that you take the test. It will be in your core classes (Math, Reading, and Science). In the morning and in the class, you will be informed if you have to take the MAP test in that period. Some students will have one for one day, some will have two; maybe even all. You will have your normal lunch during the normal time. During your elective classes you will not take a test and its the same for any social studies classes, you will not have a MAP test. During physical education, athletics, or any other classes similar, you will do your normal activities. It is not a timed test so do not rush and try your best. If you don’t know an answer to a question, take an educated guess, don’t guess on all of the questions though. The test has questions with things you may not know the answer to, just try your best. When you’re finished, raise your hand and wait for the teacher to come over and look at your score. Do not talk during the test and don’t be on your phone during the test. If your phone is seen, it will be taken away until you’re done or until the end of the day. The MAP test is used to measure the students knowledge on reading, math, and science. Students from grades 2 through 8 will be taking the MAP test every year in the fall and spring.
If you don’t finish your test or if you were absent, then you will go to the assigned place (Library or Cafeteria) with your belongings. Once you get there, you will take your MacBook/Chromebook out of your backpack, put your phone in your backpack and sit down somewhere. The session ID and password will be on the wall. Once you’re done with that you will find your name and wait to be approved to start the test. There are around 43-45 questions. If you’re having an issue with the test, raise your hand and wait for a teacher to come help you. If you’re testing too quickly or guessing just to move on faster, raise your hand or wait to be approved to start testing again. When you’re finished, shut your MacBook or Chromebook and go to the current class period, the teachers will usually tell you what class period it is when you’re done.
That’s all cardinals! Have a good MAP Testing experience!
