MMS is a wonderful community with cool teachers and students. McLean has gotten a lot cooler now that we have a new ELA teacher: Mrs. Beverly Bell! I had some time to interview her and get to know more about her background and how she came to McLean.
Mrs. Bell has been a teacher for the last 26 years, but was most recently a data analyst at an elementary school here in Fort Worth ISD. She said that she has taught 6th through 8th grade, and that she love helping out students with ELA concepts that they can apply outside of school in the real world. Personally, I really admire that she wants us to be able to make connections in our real lives with what we are learning in school.
In my conversation with Mrs. Bell, I learned that she attended the University of Lousiana at Lafayette where she was born and raised and then graduated and earned her Masters Degree at Dallas Baptist University. Since then, she has developed a love for teaching that lead her to come to McLean when our principal Mrs. Ozuna recruited her. She said that she really enjoys the friendliness of the students and staff of the school, and it was obvious to me that she is a caring teacher.
Outside of school, she enjoys things like going shopping with her family and friends and doing challenging crossword puzzles. So, if you are in A-Hall and see Mrs. Bell standing outside of room A-105, be sure to give her a warm Cardinal welcome and let her know we are glad to have her here.
Who else would you like to know about in our series of profiles? Leave me a comment, and I will get an interview! Until then, Go Cardinals!
