Color blast is a fundraiser event that McLean Middle School does every year to raise funds for the school. During color blast you can throw packets of color at people and have a blast! (literally) While color blast is a very fun event, just remember to respect people’s personal boudaries. Before going outside to throw color, ask the people you’re planning to throw color at if they consent to you throwing some color at them. If they say no, that’s OKAY. everyone has a right to their own body and if someone says no you need to respect that. If you are asked to have color thrown at you, don’t feel pressured to say yes. Just remember that your body is yours and only yours. No one else has a right to throw color on it unless you give permission. Another thing about color blast is that it can get messy real quick. Ask your parents if they can bring towels in the car when they pick you up and don’t wear your favorite outfit just because it’s free dress. I would suggest wearing either a black shirt (So you don’t get stained) or a white shirt (to commemorate the event). Also, the color can get in you hair and stay in your hair. the only thing I can suggest to get it out is a very thorough wash with shampoo and water. It can stay in your hair for 1-2 weeks though, even if you shampoo very rigorously. I know we have all heard this a lot, but just a reminder to bring NOTHING tomorrow. You can bring a plastic water bottle and a sack lunch but that’s it, unless you are in 3rd or 4th period band, then please bring your instrument and binder tomorrow and Mrs. Martien should explain the process on how to get you instrument and binder after school.
