This year the McLean Band went to try out for the region band, just like any other year. However, this year, the Cardinal band did good. Really good. They had 34 kids make it in. In fact, the amount of kids to make it in this year is actually and FWISD record for the most number of students from one school to make it in. All of the students who attended the competition did really good and to make it that far is awesome. “The thing I’m most proud about is how much you’ve grown with your music and as a musician.”, says Ms. Martien, head band director to all of her wind ensemble students. The french horns managed to get the most kids into the band and now they get the honor to play a special song at the winter concert. “It’s basically a scary Carol of the Bells.” says Rachel Middleton, french horn.
