Do you have a talent for engineering? If so, this is for you! Enter the National Engineers Week Future City Competition. Your objective is to build a city of the future. This years theme is electrifying the future. What you will do is work in a team with a teacher and a mentor with real-world STEM knowledge. You will design, research, write, build, and present.
Many students and teachers enjoy the competition and report having a memorable experience. One teacher says “Future City is maybe the single best thing I do in teaching. It has a big impact on many of my students and makes STEM look cool to kids!”. Another teacher says “I’ve done this competition for the past 2 years and I love it……..The children are already planning on what they’re going to do next year!”.
To Register visit www.futurecity.org/registration. Registration is $25 and it includes a teacher handbook with a project plan, index to curricula fit, SimCity 4 Deluxe Software, and Future City resources. If you have any questions, ask Mr. Ehmann.
