Hey there Cardinals! Looking for something to do during lunch? Lucky for you, Mrs. Sheppard is hosting Craft Club. “The Craft Club goal and mission is for kids to be creative on their own terms. If one wants to paint and the other wants to work on beads or sew, they have that ability during lunchtime” Mrs. Sheppards says. There is a diverse variety of supplies in her room. You can use your artistry to make interesting crafts and immerse yourself in all of the different materials, fueling your creativity. All of these different mediums are at your disposal. Mrs. Sheppard adds, “From glue sticks to paint, to fabric to needles”. Her room is also a place where kids can calm down, or take a break from the intensity of the cafeteria. You can play board games or spend quality time with friends throughout this time.
In craft club, only six kids are allowed at a time, although Friday is the exception when anyone can come. Signups are on her door and reset every 6 weeks. Mrs. Sheppard only has 3 rules 1. “Stop, Knock, and Wait” so she knows when a student is about to come in 2. Be respectful of other peoples creations and 3. You have to stay for the whole lunch.
All of the materials Mrs. Sheppard has recieved are donated by a local church. She’s open to any and all donations. Below is a list of needed items.
- Canvases
- Pillow stuffing
- Artificial flowers
- Clothespins
- Paintbrushes/Paint
Anything helps! If this sounds like a fun opportunity to you, stop by Mrs. Sheppard’s room and sign up. Craft Club starts September 6th. Spots are being filled as we speak!
